DIY help with an attitude.
ChadPDChee is a practical troubleshooting and project-help site built for homeowners, DIYers, mechanics, and trades-minded people who would rather fix something than stare at it angrily.
What ChadPDChee is
ChadPDChee combines original DIY reference guides with an interactive assistant that can help break a problem into steps, explain tools and materials, and help you think through common repair and maintenance questions. The goal is straightforward: useful information first, with enough personality that it does not read like the manual that came with your furnace.
The site was created by Hammered Handyman Media, the team behind The Hammered Handyman comedy brand. The humour carries over, but the technical goal is different: Chad is meant to help users understand a problem, organize a repair, and recognize when a job has crossed the line from reasonable DIY into call-a-qualified-pro territory.
What Chad can help with
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and tool explanations
- Plumbing repairs and leak diagnosis
- Automotive maintenance and symptom-based troubleshooting
- Tool selection, fasteners, drilling, measuring, and workshop basics
- Home maintenance, repair planning, and step-by-step project organization
What Chad is not
Chad is not a licensed electrician, plumber, engineer, mechanic, gas technician, contractor, or inspector. Information on this site is general educational information, not a substitute for local codes, manufacturer instructions, permits, inspections, or professional judgment.
Why the guides exist
The chat tool is useful when you have a specific problem. The guides are useful when you want a permanent reference you can read, bookmark, and come back to. They are written for this site and are designed to explain the reasoning behind common DIY checks instead of simply throwing a list of parts at you.
